On August 12, the Apple TV+ drama Five Days at Memorial will debut online.

The limited eight-episode series is based on actual events and adapted from the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Sheri Fink. It chronicles the impact of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath on a local hospital. When the floodwaters rose, power failed, and heat soared, exhausted caregivers at a New Orleans hospital were forced to make decisions that would follow them for years to come.

The cast includes Vera Farmiga, Michael Gaston, Robert Pine, Cherry Jones, Julie Ann Emery, W. Earl Brown, Cornelis Smith, Jr., Adepero Oduye and Molly Hager.

On August 5, the Amazon feature film Thirteen Lives will debut online.

In this true story, twelve boys and the coach of a Thai soccer team explore the Tham Luang cave when an unexpected rainstorm traps them in a chamber inside the mountain. On August 5, the Apple TV+ animated movie Luck will debut online.

The movie follows the story of Sam Greenfield (Eva Noblezada), the unluckiest person in the world. Suddenly finding herself in the never-before-seen Land of Luck, she must unite with the magical creatures there to turn her luck around.

Voices will also be provided by Simon Pegg, Whoopi Goldberg, Jane Fonda, Flula Borg, Lil Rel Howery, Colin O’Donoghue and John Ratzenberger.

The Sandman, the small screen adaptation of the Neil Gaiman graphic novel, will debut online on Netflix on August 5.

Based on the popular comic book, the series will be focused on when the Sandman, aka Dream (Tom Sturridge) – the powerful cosmic being who controls all our dreams – is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for over a century, he must journey across different worlds and timelines to fix the chaos his absence has caused.

The ensemble cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, David Thewlis, Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Joely Richardson, the voices of Mark Hamill and Patton Oswalt, Stephen Fry and Kirby Howell-Baptiste.
