Chesapeake Shores

The new Hallmark Channel series Chesapeake Shores will debut on August 14 at 9 PM.

Based on the best-selling books by Sherryl Woods, this multi-generational family drama focuses on Abby O’Brien (Meghan Ory from Once Upon a Time), a high-powered career woman, divorcee and mother to twin daughters, who makes a trip from New York City to her hometown of Chesapeake Shores. Her visit home brings Abby face to face with her past, including her high school sweetheart Trace (Jesse Metcalfe from Dallas), her uncompromising father Mick (Treat Williams from Everwood) and her esteemed grandmother Nell (Diane Ladd from Wild At Heart). Abby realizes the toll her career has taken on her ability to be a hands-on mother to her daughters, and considers a permanent move to Chesapeake Shores.

The show will also star Barbara Niven (Cedar Cove).

Summer in the City

On August 13, the new movie Summer in the City will debut on the Hallmark Channel at 9 PM.

When a small town woman with Midwestern charm is given a big promotion managing a store in the Big Apple, she tries to adopt a big city personality and it leads to disastrous results. Realizing it’s better to be true to herself, she lets her personality shine and it becomes the secret to her success in work and in love.

The film stars Julianna Guill (Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce), Marc Bendavid (Dark Matter), Vivica A. Fox and Marla Sokoloff.

The Get Down

The new Netflix series The Get Down will debut online on August 12.

The series follow a rag-tag crew of South Bronx teenagers in a broken down and beaten up, violent New York City at the brink of bankruptcy, which gave birth to hip-hop, punk and disco – a story told through the lives and music of the South Bronx kids who changed the city, and the world forever.

The cast includes relative newcomers Justice Smith, Herizen Guardiola, Shameik Moore, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and T.J. Brown, Jr. as well as Skylan Brooks (Southpaw), Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue) and Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad and Once Upon a Time).

My Summer Prince

On August 6, the Hallmark Channel movie My Summer Prince will debut at 9 PM.

Mandy Cooper (Taylor Cole) is a young executive assistant aspiring to become a PR executive. She gets an opportunity to develop her skills in Greenbriar, Idaho. In that small town, Prince Colin of Edgemere, a handsome British monarch (Jaxon Turner) with a history of scandalous behavior, is arrested for defacing a landmark while making a public appearance. Things get complicated after Mandy sets out to repair Colin’s image, and the young publicist wonders if she can save her own reputation and still have a chance at summer love. The cast includes Lauren Holly (NCIS and Motive), Vanessa Angel (the TV series Weird Science) and Marina Sirtis (NCIS and Star Trek: The Next Generation)

On July 30, the Hallmark Channel movie For Love & Honor will debut at 8 PM

When a by-the-book army veteran takes over as commandant at an ailing military academy, he instantly squares off with the school’s free-thinking new Dean of Academics. But when they are forced to work together to help save the school–or risk closure–sparks fly, romance blooms and lives change as they attempt to save the town’s longtime centerpiece.

The film stars James Denton (Good Witch), Natalie Brown (The Strain) and Rebecca Liddiard (Houdini and Doyle).

Signed Sealed Delivered One in a Million

On July 24, the new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries made-for-TV movie Signed Sealed Delivered: One in a Million will debut at 9 PM.

Oliver (Eris Mabius) and Shane (Kristin Booth) explore their budding romance at a supper club where they meet a woman who’s reeling from a sudden breakup with her boyfriend and asks the POstables to retrieve the valuable letter she just mailed him.

The movie also includes Crystal Lowe, Geoff Gustafson and Gregory Harrison.

Summer Villa

On July 23, the new Hallmark Channel movie Summer Villa will debut at 8 PM.

A romance novelist with writer’s block and a celebrity chef suffering from a bad review accidentally end up staying at the same French villa for the summer. As they attempt to share the house and mend their personal lives, they find that what they’re really missing is more of a personal matter.

The film stars Hilarie Burton (One Tree Hill) and Victor Webster (Continumm).

A Perfect Christmas

The Hallmark Channel Christmas in July movie A Perfect Christmas will debut on July 16 at 9 PM.

The made-for-TV movie follows a newlywed couple celebrating their first Christmas together. They invite their families to join them for the holidays, but when Steve (Dillon Casey from Nikita and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) is laid off just before Christmas and Cynthia (Susie Abromeit from Marvel’s Jessica Jones) discovers she’s pregnant, they both keep their news secret in hopes that the celebration runs smoothly.

On July 13, the new 6-episode drama The A Word will debut on Sundance TV at 10 PM

The series follows 5-year-old Joe (Max Vento); Joe’s parents, Paul (Lee Ingleby) and Alison (Morven Christie from Grantchester), who struggle with parenting philosophies; his aunt and uncle, Nicola (Vinette Robinson from Sherlock) and Steve (Greg McHugh), who are working through unfaithfulness in their marriage; and his grandfather, Maurice (Chris Eccleston from Doctor Who), a recent widower and the owner of the family brewery.
