The new NBC drama Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders will debut on September 26 at 10 PM.

This new 8-episode true-crime installment is a dramatization of the notorious murder case that changed America forever. When the Menendez brothers were tried on national TV for brutally killing their parents in Beverly Hills, their story became a national obsession.

The cast includes Anthony Edwards (ER), Constance Marie (Switched at Birth), Edie Falco (The Sopranos), Elizabeth Reaser (the Twilight franchise), Sam Jaeger (Parenthood), Carlos Gomez (The Glades), Lolita Davidovich (Shades of Blue) and Heather Graham (the box office movies Boogie Nights and From Hell) [among others].

On September 25, the new ABC drama The Good Doctor will debut at 10:01 PM.

On September 24, the new series Star Trek: Discovery will debut on CBS at 8:30 PM.

The series will focus on one Starfleet officer, who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, she must first understand yourself. The series will feature a new ship, new characters and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers.

On September 14, the 10-part thriller Riviera will debut on the streaming service Sundance Now today.

Set in the south of France, Georgina (Julia Stiles from 10 Things I Hate About You and the Bourne franchise) is newly married to billionaire Constantine Clios (Anthony LaPaglia from Without a Trace) when he is killed in a yacht explosion.

She is shocked to discover the fortune that maintained his immaculate, ever-so-tasteful lifestyle is tainted with dishonesty, double-dealing, crime, and ultimately murder. Helped by Constantine’s first wife, Georgina will undergo an education in lying, double-dealing, outright theft and shocking criminality.

She has to learn fast to maintain the Clios mansion and save the family from its enemies and from itself. Hiding her bloodstained fingers inside Chanel gloves, she soon reveals herself to be an A-plus student in the brutal art of survival.

On September 10, the series premiere of The Orville will air on FOX at 8 PM.

The series is set 400 years in the future, following the adventures of the U.S.S. Orville, a mid-level exploratory vessel. Its crew, both human and alien, face the wonders and dangers of outer space, while also dealing with the familiar, often humorous problems of regular people in a workplace even though some of those people are from other planets, and the workplace is a faster-than-light spaceship.

The cast includes Seth MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki (Marvels’ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Friday Night Lights), Scott Grimes (ER and Justified), Penny Johnson Jerald (Castle and 24), Halston Sage (Neighbors), Norm Macdonald (Saturday Night Live and The Middle) and Chad Coleman (The Walking Dead and The Expanse).

The popular web series Con Man will make its TV debut, all 13 episodes of its first season back-to-back, on Syfy starting at 10 PM on September 9.

The critically acclaimed web series follows the journey of Wray Nerely (Alan Tudyk), a washed-up, former sci-fi celebrity who revisits his glory days on the convention circuit.

The star-studded first season features Nathan Fillion, Seth Green, Felicia Day, Sean Astin, James Gunn and Tricia Helfer [among countless others.]

Comic Con 2017 was held in San Diego from July 19 through July 23.

While I was busy covering panel rooms for TV Equals and NiceGirlsTV as well as Rueben’s Ramblings, our very own Dominick Dusseault was hitting up Hall H to snap as many pictures of the annual fete as possible.
